I would expect another study could show (we should do this!) that the number of nonassigned posts on a student's blog is an excellent indicator of whether their blog will last or not. If homework is one small part of what goes on, wouldn't we expect the blog to survive when the homework stops?&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;I would expect that number of comments from nonclassmates would also be an excellent predictor of blog survivability (proxy for the student's connections with the broader community).</content><link rel='edit' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7778661/109745484261708821/comments/default/109898478025313057'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7778661/109745484261708821/comments/default/109898478025313057'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://binghowe.blogspot.com/2004/10/blogging-in-theory-vs-practice.html?showComment=1098984780000#c109898478025313057' title=''/><author><name>David</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/08302109332912522427</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email></author><thr:in-reply-to xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0' href='http://binghowe.blogspot.com/2004/10/blogging-in-theory-vs-practice.html' ref='tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7778661.post-109745484261708821' source='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/7778661/posts/default/109745484261708821' type='text/html'/></entry></feed>
